Our Story
TNL Motors Ltd started its operations in the year 2000 as a transportation business, known as Transport and Lifting Services. We then embarked on a growth strategy that involved making more offerings within the transport and logistics industry. We expanded our growth by venturing in truck sales, which is now our biggest business line, among other related products. This shift in the business model transitioned us to TNL Motors Ltd in 2022.
Our Head offices are located at TNL Centre Building, along Bandari Road, in Industrial Area, Nairobi, where administration and supply management is done. We have branches offices in Nairobi along Bunyala Road in Industrial Area, Athi River along Mombasa Rd, Nothern Bypass near Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club and Mombasa along Machakos Street. We are also in the process of expanding more within the East Africa region.
Our History
2000 - Founding
TNL Motors Ltd began its journey in the year 2000 under the name Transport and Lifting Services, providing essential transport solutions. Our main transportation client at the time was Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), a partnership that played a significant role in establishing us within the logistics sector. Alongside this, we started an Animal Feeds division, converting brewing by-products from KBL into animal feeds, supporting sustainability efforts.
2006 - Becoming a motor dealer
In response to growing industry demands, Transport and lifting transitioned into a dealership, expanding its operations to include the sale of trucks and related products. This strategic move allowed us to diversify our offerings beyond transportation services and capitalize on new market opportunities.
2013- Introduction of Adblue
To meet the rising demand for emissions-reducing solutions and address a gap in the local market, TNL introduced AdBlue to its product lineup. With incoming trucks requiring AdBlue, the demand surged, yet there were no major players providing this essential solution. Recognizing this opportunity, we partnered exclusively with GreenChem, a leading producer of AdBlue in Europe, to offer our customers a reliable supply
2015 - Introduction of TNL Trailers
As part of our ongoing efforts to expand and diversify our offerings, TNL introduced a range of high-quality trailers to meet the growing demands of our customers in the logistics and transportation sectors. Recognizing the increasing need for reliable and durable trailers, we sought to provide a comprehensive solution for businesses looking to enhance their transport capacity.
2015 - Introduction of Spot Tracking
TNL Motors Ltd took a significant step forward in fleet management with the introduction of SPOT Tracking, a state-of-the-art GPS tracking system designed to provide real-time insights into vehicle locations and performance. This innovative solution was launched to meet the increasing need for better fleet control, enhanced security, and improved operational efficiency.
2015 - Introduction of Zoomlion's products.
TNL Motors Ltd expanded our product portfolio by becoming an authorized dealer for zoomlion agricultural tractors offering different sizes of agricultural tractors and implements. However, in 2020, we discontinued the sale of Zoomlion products due to shifting market dynamics and a strategic refocus.
2017 - Introduction of locally used trucks business.
As part of our commitment to meeting diverse customer needs, TNL Motors Ltd expanded into the locally used trucks market. Recognizing the demand for affordable yet reliable transportation solutions, we introduced a range of pre-owned trucks, offering businesses a cost-effective option without compromising on quality.
2019- Expansion of Spot to include speed limiters
Under our SPOT brand, TNL Motors Ltd expanded its product offerings by introducing SPOT Speed Limiters, designed to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with regulatory speed limits.
2022-Business restructure separating animal feeds business from motor dealership
In a strategic move to streamline our operations and focus on core business areas, TNL Motors Ltd separated its Animal Feeds division, allowing it to become an independent company forming Happy Feeds Limited.
2023- Introduction on Bomba
TNL Motors Ltd further expanded its product line by introducing the Bomba brand, offering a variety of cargo tuktuks, passenger tuktuks, and motorcycles. This move was driven by the growing demand for affordable, efficient, and versatile transportation solutions, particularly in urban and rural areas.
